Rosa’s Place Supportive Housing Project Tops Out in Downtown Los Angeles

The Rosa's Place supportive housing development, located at 501 E. 5th Street in Downtown Los Angeles' Skid Row, recently celebrated its topping-out ceremony. This seven-story building, a collaboration between Daylight Community Development and GTM Holdings, will introduce 97 units of permanent supportive housing, alongside a market-rate manager's apartment and dedicated on-site offices for service providers.

Designed by KFA Architecture and Gensler, the structure features a V-shaped footprint above its podium level, optimizing for natural light and open space. Funding for the project is diverse, drawing from various state sources, Apple, the City and County of Los Angeles, Century, and Citi. Upon its expected completion in Fall 2027, Rosa's Place is projected to nearly double the Downtown Women's Center's housing capacity from 119 to 216 homes. This initiative underscores a collective commitment to addressing homelessness in the region, particularly for women and survivors of violence, by investing in proven housing solutions.
