Alexan West End: 600-Unit Apartment Complex Nears Completion in Downtown Long Beach
The Alexan West End, a substantial apartment complex featuring 600 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, is nearing completion at 600 Broadway in Downtown Long Beach. Developed by Trammell Crow Residential and R&V Management, the project has recently revealed its seven- and eight-story structures, replacing a former parking lot adjacent to the World Trade Center. This update comes one year after the last progress report, indicating significant advancement.
Designed by Studio One Eleven, the development incorporates internal streets and pedestrian paths, along with a suite of amenities including a fitness center, swimming pool, spa, and a rooftop deck. This phase represents the initial components of a broader plan approved by the City of Long Beach, which envisions a future high-rise building on the property's western side. The site is strategically located directly north of the World Trade Center and east of a similar 142-unit apartment complex that opened in 2022 at Broadway and Magnolia Avenue. For developers and investors, this project signifies continued growth in Long Beach's housing market and the ongoing transformation of its downtown core, adding considerable housing supply to the area.
